Katie, a Catahoula, came to her family as a Mother’s Day rescue nine years ago. She has been the center of all affections since that day. Last March however she was a little sluggish and her owner Carol took her in to Dr. Chet and found out she had Cushing’s Disease that drove Diabetes. It was touch and go there for a few days but now with daily medication and insulin shots twice a day she is back to her old self. But recently when Carol noticed she was stumbling into things she found out Katie has cataracts from the diabetes and they can’t be operated on and she is nearly blind now. Katie looks at her owner confused sometimes, but it hasn’t stopped her eagerness to play with her sister Paisley and generally be the love of Carol’s life.
